It’s a good week for comedy when rooms other than the area’s two main clubs bring in talent. Here’s what shows we’re eyeing up over the next week.

Veteran comedian David Dyer returns to Rob’s Comedy Playhouse at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. May 12. Dyer’s most recent album, “Uncooked,” was released last year on top digital platforms, and he’s developed two web series, “The Sidecar Sessions” and “Pillars,” both available on YouTube. Admission is $12. Info:

Big laughs are up at Helium Comedy Club this weekend, as Lavell Crawford returns to headline six shows over four nights beginning May 10. His Comedy Central special “Can a Brother Get Some Love?” was filmed in his hometown of St. Louis, and he’s appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and several other filmed tours and shows. “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” fans also know Crawford from his recurring role as bodyguard Huell. Crawford will perform at the downtown club at 7:30 p.m. May 10, 7:30 and 10 p.m. May 11 and 12, and 7 p.m. May 13. Tickets are $30. Info:

JT Habersaat has found his own path to a comedy career, as he takes his Altercation Punk Comedy Tour to Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St.) at 8:30 p.m. May 15. Habersaat has released several albums and specials and hosts the weekly “Road Podcast.” He’ll be joined by comedian Jay Chanoine and local funnymen Rick Matthews and Jesse Winterhalter. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 cash at the door. Info:
