Major comedy acts continue to make stops in Buffalo, as Helium Comedy Club presents two headliners this weekend. Here are our recommendations for the week:

Adam Ray kicks the week off at Helium Comedy Club with three shows Sept. 27-28. Ray’s career continues to grow with his stand-up comedy, online sketch videos, the “About Last Night” podcast he co-hosts with Brad Williams, and appearances in television and films like “The Heat” and the 2016 “Ghostbusters.” Ray keeps it loose with his stand-up, mixing his regular material with conversations with the crowd. Ray will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 and 7:30 and 10 p.m. Sept. 28. Tickets range from $15 to $28. Info: buffalo.heliumcomedy.com.

Maria Bamford returns to Buffalo with three shows over two nights at Helium on Sept. 29 and 30. The star and creator of the Netflix show “Lady Dynamite” has had an acclaimed career in comedy, from her unique presence as a stand-up act to numerous appearances and voice work in television. Her “Comedians of Comedy” tour with Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn launched its own television series and movie. Bamford will perform at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Sept. 29 and 7 p.m. Sept. 30. Tickets are $25. Info: buffalo.heliumcomedy.com.

Dave Dyer, a regular opener for Drew Carey and Lewis Black, performs a headlining act for shows at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Rob’s Comedy Playhouse in Williamsville. The Michigan native has previously written for the former ABC show “Politically Incorrect.” Tickets are $10 and $12. Info: robscomedyplayhouse.com..
