The 11 Day Power Play
November 18, 2021
We are going back to our roots. The original 11 Day Power Play event is back! The 2021 event will feature 40 new selected players, playing ice hockey for 251 + hours over the course of 11 days while braving winter elements. With 20 players per team, 40 pairs of skates will hit the ice downtown at Buffalo RiverWorks. The 11 Day Power Play, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, which has raised over $5 million for cutting-edge cancer research and wellness programs since 2017 through the production of an annual marathon hockey game, is announcing their 2021 event.
Buffalo and beyond – has rallied around the 11 Day Power Play events, helping raise necessary funds to supporting local families battling cancer. A group from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada has the current record for the world’s longest hockey game and we look forward to taking it back!
The 2021 11 Day Power Play will take place starting the evening of Sunday, November 14, 2021 and played continuously around the clock through Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Buffalo RiverWorks. Hockey players in the community are invited to apply for one of the 40 player spots. See details and apply now! Deadline for applications is Friday, November 13th!
