Live events are back! We have all been waiting far too long to see that live events have finally made a comeback and full calendars and schedules are once again being released. It feels surreal seeing people all getting out there again and big groups merging together for social gatherings. So, get ready Buffalo – you definitely won’t want to miss out any longer on what’s happening all summer long.
Leave the planning to us! We have figured out all the details of what you need to know about some of the best downtown buffalo attractions, so you don’t have to. Live it up and enjoy a fulfilling weekend with great food, comedy, outdoor trails, music, and breathtaking city views and summer sunsets.
We have gathered a selection of several different places and activities you can take part in :
1) Hydralic Hearth
This restaurant and beer garden is a perfect spot to kick off your weekend. The atmosphere, food, music, and good vibes will guarantee to make you glad you came. I hope you like pizza because Hydralic Hearth specializes in the brick oven pizza department – offering a variety of different combinations to try. Stick to your comfort zone and get the classic cheese and pepperoni with a nice crispy crust. Or, branch out and try a four cheese pizza (extra cheesy).
Spice up your meal even more by adding some tasty appetizers! Beer and cocktails are also available (and encouraged). The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4pm-9pm. However, the bar stays open later on Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy a nice summer evening and chill in the beer garden with some delicious food and drinks soon!
2) Wilkenson’s Pointe
Have you been to Wilkenson’s Pointe yet? If not, make sure to get over there soon. Summer only lasts so long in Buffalo, so we have to make the most of it while the nice weather while it’s still here.
You may be wondering, what’s there to even do at Wilkenson’s Pointe? This family friendly outdoor spot has a range of activities as well as food and drinks to enjoy. Those who are 21+ can crack a beer from Wilkenson’s beachside beer garden and lounge in an Adirondack Chair. Or, check out the brand new hammocks that were just added to the area and relax while looking out at the beautiful water.
Get your exercise in and take advantage of the space on the the Wilkenson Pointe trail. This beautiful trail serves for the public as a place where you can run, walk your dog, take a bike ride, etc. The path connects Wilkeson Pointe to the 1833 Buffalo Lighthouse and further points along the Outer Harbor like Gallagher Beach, Tift Nature Preserve and the Small Boat Harbor. Fitness classes, volleyball, kickball, and horsehoes are offered at Wilkenson Pointe as well. So, gather up your crew and take part in some good friendly competition! 3) Jazz on the Plaz
The Seneca One Tower is welcoming you to come hang out on Fridays! This downtown destination is the tallest building in Buffalo – standing at 529 feet tall. In attempt to offer some normalcy back to the Buffalo Community, the Seneca One Tower has teamed up with Jazz Buffalo a non-for- profit aimed at growing the jazz scene here in Buffalo. The “Jazz on the Plaz” event will be a recurring event every Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with free live music! There will also be local food trucks to get some good food and drinks from. It doesn’t get much better than that – who doesn’t love free live music and food trucks? Not to mention the amazing location being the Seneca One Tower. Celebrate the end of the work week and head to the west plaza at Seneca and Main Street on Fridays!
4) Water Bikes
Cool off and sign up for a water activity at Canalside. The Buffalo Water Bikes are a great family fun activity to bring visitors from out of town to try out. Or, they can make an ordinary day for Buffalo locals a little more fun. Canalside offers everyday fun events all summer long. Make sure to stay updated on what’s happening by following the waterfront social media pages or by checking their website.
The single water bikes are only $18 an hour. If you prefer to bike with a friend, try a tandem bike for $36 an hour. Ride along the Buffalo river and make your way down to RiverWorks where you can get a nice view of the Labatt blue six-pack silos.
5) Helium Comedy Club
Don’t take life too seriously and get your comedy fix at Helium Comedy Club. Located directly in the Historic Cobblestone District, this club has a lineup of acts every single week all summer long. Coming up in July is the Plastic Cup Boyz. These two young men who have toured the world as the opening act for mega star Kevin Hart. They are quickly becoming one of the hottest act in comedy, known for their outrageous sketches and impressions.
