A concert at Outer Harbor Live is one you will never forget. Located on the Buffalo Waterfront, with breathtaking views of the sunset over Lake Erie, Terminal B amphitheater is a unique concert venue unlike no other in Western New York. Last Tuesday, June 3rd, I attended my first concert at Outer Harbor to see the band Wallows. Going into the concert, I didn’t know what to expect since I had never been to a concert at this venue before. I had an amazing experience overall so I have decided to share my experiences for anyone going or planning on going to a concert at Outer Harbor this summer.
Terminal B amphitheater recently began it’s second summer concert series this past May. This live concert series runs from May-September and will feature 17 concerts this summer, with headliners including Megan Moroney, Barenaked Ladies, and Ethel Cain. Terminal B has already hosted some amazing artists this season like Warren Zeiders and Wallows, who I was lucky to be able to see last week.
One of the questions I had before going to the Wallows concert was where to park and whether or not parking was free. I am happy to report that the venue does offer free parking for concert goers. There is a parking lot that operates on a first come first serve basis as well as street parking. Parking is very organized compared to other local venues, and after the show, there are police officers on site helping to direct traffic. I parked in the lot and was out of the traffic in under 10 minutes. With that being said, my sister parked on the street and was out even quicker, so I would recommend either option. Biking is also an encouraged method of transportation and for easy bike rental access, there is a Reddy Bike Share station located directly next to the venue.
Another important factor to be aware of is that outside food or beverage is not permitted. Since I had never been to Terminal B before, I wasn’t sure if there were places to eat and drink within the venue, but I can report that there are plenty of options to purchase both food and beverages. There is a variety of food trucks including Sahlens Premium Meats where you are able to purchase a hot dog along with drink stations that serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
There are a few different kinds of seating offered at Terminal B amphitheater. When purchasing tickets, each type is listed as general admission, premium general admission, and reserved seating. The option with the cheapest price point is general admission, where majority of people stand directly in front of the stage, but there is also an option where you can instead relax with a blanket and sit on the lawn a little farther back. For the Wallows concert, I bought general admission and I was very happy with my seating. I arrived at the venue about an hour before doors opened and was still pretty close to the front of the stage. One thing I was worried about with general admission was that it would be overwhelming, because at other venues, I have experienced a lot of pushing and shoving in general admission seating. But at Outer Harbor Live, I had plenty of space around me and did not feel overwhelmed at all. With that being said, I would definitely purchase general admission again. The premium general admission option is a little bit more expensive but you are in a closed off space towards the right side of the stage, with Adirondack chairs available and a Jumbotron right in front of you, which is a new feature for this year. Premium general admission is also closed off from the rest of the venue which allows you to have an overall calmer concert experience. Lastly, the most expensive seating option is reserved seating which is tailored for people that want to be guaranteed a seat, located on the left side of the stage.
A night at Outer Harbor Live is the perfect summer activity for all ages. The Wallows concert has been my favorite part of summer so far and I can’t wait to attend more concerts at this venue. Enjoying some great live music while also experiencing the gorgeous Buffalo Waterfront is a unique experience that should definitely be on everyones summer 2025 bucket list.
